our story
Our family began when surfing brought us together in Jacó. My wife, an Indigenous Costa Rican and I, a Russian Israeli, fell in love thanks to the ocean and the waves. Our shared passion for surfing and nature inspired us to create Sababa Surf School.
"Sababa" means Pura Vida, a phrase that perfectly represents our way of life. Just like surfing, it connects us and reminds us to appreciate the beauty of Costa Rica every day.
We wake up each morning in this paradise, ready to conquer the waves and share our love for the ocean with our students. That’s why our motto is:
